The Administrative Office is responsible for coordinating the overall initiative and moderates the implementation of the National Strategy for Gene- and Cell-Based Therapies. It serves as a central interface for all external stakeholders for topics concerning the overall strategy, connects the projects and structures based at the BIH, and is currently preparing to establish a permanent governance structure.
At the moment, the GCT project team at the BIH is fulfilling this role on an interim basis: It supports the spokespersons of the strategy (Prof. Christopher Baum and Prof. Christof von Kalle), works in close coordination with the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) as well as other departments and authorities. Additionally, the team moderates the work of the eight working groups and the round table, coordinates the implementation of overarching and topic-specific measures, and ensures alignment with related activities within the BIH.
